My name is Jennifer Schultz and I am a middle school teacher at Coonley Elementary School in Chicago's North Center neighborhood. I currently teach math and reading, but have also taught science and social studies during my 10 years with the Chicago Public Schools.
I have a BA in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I completed my math and science endorsement coursework and algebra training through the University of Chicago's SESAME program.. I was a 2014-2015 Chicago Foundation for Education (CFE) Action Research Fellow researching guided math in middle school. I am currently a MSU-WIPRO Urban STEM Fellow at Michigan State University where I am learning about technology and innovation in education.
In addition to teaching in North Center, I also live in the neighborhood with my husband Justin and our beagle mixes, Hank and Buster. In our free time we enjoying going to the beach, traveling, reading, working on our home, and going to Cubs games.
